This grape variety is essential to Bodegas Luzón and has been cultivated through a long family tradition. The history of the bodega begins in far-off Luzon, the largest island in the Philippine archipelago. The founder, Don José Molina, returned from his military service there to his hometown of Jumilla in 1814 and named his land \"Finca Luzón\" – after the island that remained in his memory. Subsequently, the winery was managed for several generations by the women of the Molina family, which proved the winery's unmistakable pioneering spirit even back then. This love for tradition and passion for innovation are still reflected in the wines of Bodegas Luzón today. The vineyards are cultivated on over 500 hectares at an altitude of 450 to 600 meters, with a variety of soils and climate zones that make it possible to grow not only the essential Monastrell grape, but also other varieties such as Garnacha Tintorera, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc, to name just a few.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe Region\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eMurcia is a smaller, lesser-known region in the far southeast of Spain.
