One of the personalities who has been associated with the Barolo name since that time is also a pioneer: Pietro Emilio Abbona, an ancestor of the current owner family, made the wine of his region and with it the Cantina Marchesi di Barolo famous all over the world. The wines from Marchesi di Barolo still do honor to their great name today. Short, dry summers are followed by foggy autumns and very cold winters.
