From the Cartavio Rum Company in Perú comes the Antagonic Gin, released in 2015. With the name and the matching design, they wanted to introduce consumers to "the dark side of gin." Because there is such a dark side to be found in every human being. The opposites that lie dormant within us, the hidden thoughts and the most intimate desires sometimes lead us to think and act contradictorily. And since the British are considered a very polite and correct people, they wanted this Peruvian version of a gin to hint at the antagonistic nature of human beings. The gin itself offers a balanced blend of dry juniper, sweet spices and citrus. On the rest of the details, as is common with so many new gins emerging, we keep a low profile. Antagonic Gin is quite a rare sight in this country, so it inevitably has something mystical about it.
