The Castel Firmian line takes its name from the castle overlooking the Rotaliana Plain: full-bodied wines crafted from select grape varieties. Their intense, balanced aromas tell a story of connection to the terroir, a love for tradition, and the experience of real people. The unmistakable terroir of Trentino defines the aromatic profile of Castel Firmian: fragrant and elegant wines with a traditional taste.

The Region

South Tyrol/Trentino is one of Italy's smallest wine-growing regions. A wide variety of altitudes, soil compositions, and climatic conditions make it highly diverse, providing a suitable environment for numerous grape varieties. In the north, the Alps protect against cold winds, while in the south, Mediterranean currents from Lake Garda and the Mediterranean Sea influence the open landscape. The best vineyard sites are located between 600 and 800 m above sea level and yield promising and diverse wines; significant temperature differences between day and night, combined with sufficient rainfall during the growing season, create ideal conditions for high grape quality. Over 55 percent of the vineyard area is planted with the white varieties Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay.
