The Chivas Brothers, James and John Chivas began their careers in 1801 as caterers in Aberdeen. The store with exquisite delicacies for the elite of Europe flourished magnificently and one day the brothers came up with the idea to enrich their storage cellars with some barrels of exclusive Scottish whiskey and later even produce them themselves. Starting in the 1840s, they supplied not only Queen Victoria with their high-quality blends, they were also purveyors of K.u.K. Monarchy. Even before, the international breakthrough of the exclusive brand was only a matter of time and it therefore comes as no surprise that Chivas Regal is now the second largest Scotch whiskey manufacturer in the world. Although the company was acquired by the Pernod Ricard Group in 2001, the outstanding quality of the Chivas Blends has always remained the same, a fact that is certainly due not least to the virtuosity of Master Blenders Colin Scott.
