About Domaine Lafage

Located between the sea and the mountains, on the road between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is based in a 15th-century country house built from old stone. After six generations of winemakers, the estate is now run by the experienced winemaking couple Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage. Its cellar has been completely rebuilt and fitted out to the latest international standards. The vines thrive on a diverse and varied terroir, and the Lafages work with a motivated team of highly qualified staff to turn their grapes into modern, trendy wines.

The region

In the south of France, adjoining the Rhône Valley geographically, the country’s largest wine region, Languedoc, hugs the Mediterranean coastline with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterized by abundant sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that grow here—mostly on limestone soils—are robust and strong thanks to the region’s dry conditions. In addition to viticulture, olive growing is a major agricultural activity here; the olives also thrive without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is an exceptionally colorful region. Mediterranean charm can be felt everywhere: in the typical earthenware, airy fabrics and light, flavorful dishes.
