Domaine Lafage Nicolas Côtes Catalanes IGP 2023 Red Wine – This wine is dedicated to Nicolas, the son of Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage. Full-bodied, structured and balanced. A beautifully fruity, rich, lingering, well-balanced wine, ruby red with violet highlights and a fairly intense bouquet of blackcurrant, plum, prune and lovely toasted notes of toast, coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied, smooth and harmonious on the palate, with the fruit aromas returning in precise fashion, complemented by a hint of spice from liquorice, cinnamon and vanilla. The finish is pleasantly medium-length.

About Domaine Lafage
Between the sea and the mountains, on the route between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is based in a 15th-century country house built of old stone. After six generations of winemakers, the experienced oenologist couple Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage now run the estate, whose cellar has been completely rebuilt and perfectly equipped with state-of-the-art international technology. The vines thrive on a varied, diverse terroir, and the Lafages turn their grapes into modern, on-trend wines together with a motivated team of highly qualified staff.
The region
In the south of France, adjoining the Rhône Valley geographically, the country's largest wine region, Languedoc, stretches along the Mediterranean coastline, with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterized by plenty of sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that grow here—mostly on limestone soils—are vigorous and robust thanks to the region's dry conditions. Alongside viticulture, olive growing also dominates local agriculture, with the olives thriving without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is an exceptionally colourful region: the Mediterranean feel is everywhere—in its traditional earthenware, airy fabrics and light, flavourful dishes.
