Domaine Lafage Tessellae Côtes Catalanes IGP Carignan Vieilles Vi 2023 Red Wine – A full-bodied, balanced, lingering and incredibly harmonious red wine, black-red in colour with subtle violet hues. Its powerful, complex bouquet reveals notes of dark berries, along with hints of cherry and spicy notes of pepper and liquorice. Aromatic on the palate, with silky tannins, soft and full of fruit, it finishes long.

About Domaine Lafage

Situated between the sea and the mountains, on the route between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is based in a 15th-century country house built of ancient stone. After six generations of winemakers, the estate is now run by the experienced oenologist couple Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage. Its winery has been completely rebuilt and equipped to the highest modern international standards. The vines thrive on a diverse and varied terroir, and the Lafages work with a motivated team of highly qualified staff to produce modern, fashionable wines.

The region

In the south of France, adjoining the Rhône Valley geographically, the Languedoc, the country's largest wine region, stretches along the Mediterranean coastline, with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterised by abundant sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines growing here—mostly on limestone soils—are robust and hardy, thanks to the region's dry conditions. Alongside viticulture, olive growing is the dominant agricultural activity; the olives also thrive without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is a particularly colourful region: the Mediterranean flair is palpable everywhere—in its typical earthenware, airy fabrics and light, tasty dishes.
