About Erich Sattler

The Sattler winery is located in the Burgenland municipality of Tadten. Even as a little boy, Erich Sattler played in the vineyards and engaged with the honesty of nature at an early age. This shaped him. After comprehensively learning the theory at the Wine School and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, he devoted himself entirely to practice. Since 2000, he has been successfully running the Sattler winery according to his personal convictions: Erich Sattler produces wines just like the ones he loves and enjoys drinking himself.

The Region

The Burgenland is excellently suited for viticulture, both geographically and climatically. The vines benefit from hot, dry summers with Austria's highest temperatures, balanced by the vast expanse of water of Lake Neusiedl. Together with the sunny autumn, this results in a very long growing season and perfectly ripe grapes at the end. The sparse gravel soils on which the vines grow store the sun on one hand and warm the plants, while on the other hand, they ensure velvety tannins in the wine.
