Iva is not only the name of the herbal liqueur, but also the Rhaeto-Romanic name of the plant (musk yarrow) from which Iva is produced in small quantities. All production steps are carried out by hand.

The musk yarrow has been used for centuries - it is traditionally used to make a liqueur that was once exported as far away as Saxony and France. Iva, as the liqueur is also known, is still produced in the Engadin today according to a centuries-old recipe. The herbs are picked by hand in the mountains around Tschlin in July and August and left to macerate in alcohol for several days, after which they are pressed and filtered. Water and sugar are then added continuously until the Iva has the typical bittersweet taste. Finally, the herbal liqueur is bottled, corked and labeled by hand. Each bottle is numbered and can therefore be traced without a doubt.
