Les Jamelles Cabernet Merlot Pays d’Oc IGP Sélection Spéciale 2024 Red Wine – Deep black-red with subtle violet reflections, this balanced, fruity, lingering and full-bodied blend makes quite an impression. A fairly powerful bouquet of ripe cherries, plums and black berries rises to the nose, complemented by floral notes of geranium and violet. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with juicy tannins and a harmonious, full-bodied structure. Alongside the berry and stone-fruit aromas come toasted notes of smoke, cocoa and chocolate, a hint of humus and a pleasant finish.

The Region

In the south of France, bordering the Rhône Valley geographically, the country’s largest wine region, Languedoc, stretches along the Mediterranean coastline, with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterised by abundant sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that thrive here—mostly on limestone soils—are vigorous and robust due to the region’s dry conditions. Alongside viticulture, olive growing is the dominant agricultural activity here; olives also thrive without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is an exceptionally colourful region: the Mediterranean feel is everywhere—in the traditional earthenware, airy fabrics and light, flavourful dishes.
