Quinta Sardonia originated from a joint project in the 90s by Frenchman Jérôme Bougnaud and renowned Dane Peter Sisseck. The region

Castile and León comprises the northern half of the vast central Spanish plateau. It extends from the center of Spain almost to the northern coast; the vineyards are located at an altitude of 700 to 1,000 meters above sea level. Despite its proximity to the Atlantic, the climate is continental, with hot, dry summers, icy winters, and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. Because there is also very little rainfall, the soils are low in nutrients—except near the region's numerous rivers, the most famous of which is the Duero, where significantly more minerals and clay are found.
