Segura Viudas Cava DO Reserva Heredad Sparkling Wine – Fresh, balanced, fruity and light, this sparkling wine presents an intense golden colour in the glass. Its medium-bodied bouquet of exotic fruits is complemented by notes of apple, pear and peach, as well as a very subtle hint of citrus. The Cava has a vigorous mousse, a medium-length structure, and is aromatic, harmonious and fresh, with finely presented fruit on the palate and a medium-length finish.

The quality of Segura Viudas Cava sparkling wines has been delighting connoisseurs since 1969. Today, it is one of Catalonia’s leading producers of premium Cavas. For its top Cavas, which many enthusiasts find fresher and fruitier than Champagne, only must from the first pressing of exclusively hand-picked Xarello, Parellada and Macabeo grapes is used. The sparkling wines are bottle-fermented and aged for up to 60 months on specially cultivated house yeast strains. The final touch is the unique, handcrafted bottle of the premium Reserva Heredad.

The Region

Catalonia is a renowned region in northeastern Spain. The Catalans are the driving force and leading innovators in Spanish winemaking. They were the first to produce sparkling wine using the Champagne method in Penedès, and Cava continues to play an important role there today. This major wine region offers every microclimate imaginable for viticulture. Along the coast, the sea provides freshness and moisture, while inland conditions are generally drier and hotter. Mountain ranges with their hills and steep slopes also create many exceptional terroirs, particularly on limestone and clay soils.
